Years of Celebration
Sat. Nov 5th 2016

On Nov. 5th, Paoli Fire Company honored two life members who have both made tremendous contributions to the company during a company banquet.

First, firefighter Harry Thomas was honored for fifty years of service. Harry spent many years responding to emergencies and protecting the community. He remains active with the company to this day, attending meetings and responding to calls in a support role.

Chief Ira Dutter Jr. was was also honored (though we had to keep it a surprise from him until that night...Sorry Chief) for his service as Fire Chief. It would take a long time and many pages here to describe all that he has accomplished for PFC. Ira was Chief for 18 years; and his influence, dedication and company pride are evident throughout the firehouse. Ira retired as Fire Chief in May of this year but remains active with the company as both a Board Director and Engineer.

Members and guests celebrated the accomplishments, commitment and sacrifices of each of these men. Presentations were made by Chief Testa on behalf of the company, and State Senator Andrew Dinniman presented proclamations of recognition from the PA State Legislature. Formal recognition of each man's contribution was also received from the United States House of Representatives and the Chester County Commissioners. Thank you for all that you have done, Harry and Ira! We are very proud of your accomplishments. Your contributions that have made Paoli Fire Company as strong and capable as it is. Well Done!
