Devon Rd Fire
Tue. Sep 16th 2014

Around 7 am on Tuesday September 16th, the Paoli Fire Company was dispatched to Grubb Rd for an activated fire alarm.  Upon arrival of Tac and Deputy 3, the homeowner reported smoke in his basement.  Upon further investigation, it was determined an active fire was present in the basement.  Tac 3's crew stretched 1- 1.75" water line to the basement to locate the fire.  After some searching, crew's found fire in an office in the basement.  Engine 3-1's crew laid a supply line from the hydrant by General Wayne Elementary school to Tac 3.  An additional 1.75" water line was stretched in case crew's needed more assistance. Engine 3-5 provided manpower assistance also.  Engine 2-3 (Berwyn) provided Rit duties, and Ladder 4 (Malvern) assisted with manpower operations.  Ambulance 3-2 and Ambulance and Medic 4 (Malvern) provided ems assistance.  Fm-100 determined the fire to be accidental.  A working smoke detector provided early notice to this fire.  The Paoli Fire Company strongly urges everyone to check your smoke detectors and have at least one smoke detector on every floor of your home.
