Rt 252 Accident with Entrapment

Station 3, and Medic 2 (Berwyn) were dispatched to Rt 252 and Friendship Dr for an auto accident with entrapment.  Reports from the communications center reported a 2 vehicle crash head on.  Upon arrival of Ambulance 3, they reported an auto accident with possible ejection.  Upon further assessment, the Ambulance crew determined 1 subject was entrapped in the vehicle, with 4 patients total.  Ambulance 3 requested a 3 additional Ambulances and 3 additional Paramedics.  Engine 3-1 arrived a short time later, and began an extended extrication on a van.  Crew's used a wide variety of tools to help extricate the patient.  Ambulance 3 transported 2 Bls patients during the extrication. Engine 3-1 operated for about 50 minutes trying to extricate the subject.  Deputy 3 (E. Adams) had command.  


Assisting units: Berwyn Ambulance 2-3, Berwyn Ambulance 2-2,  Malvern Ambulance 4-1, Radnor Fire Company Ambulance 15A. Berwyn Medic 2-2, 2-3, Radnor Medic 15-1, Malvern Medic 4-1.
